COMPONENTS OF ALOEVERA

Aloevera contains at least 75 known ingredients which can divided into the following groups:
  1. VITAMINS: It is rich in all vitamins specially the anti-oxidant vitamin A, C & E, other are B1, B2, B6, B12, folic acid and choline. Vitamins in natural form are very fast absorbable and useful in compression of synthetics.
  2. MINERALS: Calcium, Potassium, Iron, Sodium, Magnesium, Maganese, Copper, Chromium and anti-oxidant Selenium. Although minerals and trace elements are only needed in very small quantity, they are essential for the proper functioning of various enzyme systems in different metabolic pathways.
  3. ENZYMES: These are bio-chemicals, which catalyze the digestion and other metabolic reactions in the body. Aloevera contains phosphates, amylase, lipase, catalyze, creative, phosphokin, nuclestides, cellulose, alkaline phosphates proteolysis and Bradykinase.
Especially Bradykinase, helps to reduce excessive inflammation when applied to the skin topically and therefore reduce pain and any other abnormal sensation. Others helps in digest any dead tissues in wounds. Lipase and protease which break down foods and aid digestion are present.
  4. SUGAR: These are derived from the mucilage layer of the plant which surrounds the inner gel and are known as mucopolysaccharides, which enhance the immune system and help to detoxify. Aloevera contains bath mono & polysaccharides, but the most important are the long chain sugars involving glucose and mannose. These sugars are ingested whole from the gut, not broken down like other sugars, and appear in the bloodstream in exactly the same form. This process in known as pinocytosis. Some of these polysaccharides are not absorbed but stick to certain cells lining the gut and from a barriers preventing absorption of unwanted material so helping to prevent a ‘leaking’ gut syndrome in topical preparation. The sugars are main moisturizers.
  5. LAXETIVES (Anthraquinones): There are twelve of these phenolic compounds which are found exclusively in the plant. The important one, Aloin & Emodin, act as laxative, painkillers, antibacterial and antiviral.
  6. LIGNINS: It is an inert substance but when included in topical preparations it help to penetrate ingredients into the skin.
  7. SAPOONINS: These soapy substances form about 3% of the Aloevera Gel and are capable of cleansing & having antiseptic properties. These act powerfully as antimicrobials against bacteria, viruses, fungus and yeast.
  8. FATTY ACIDS: In Aloevera four steroids are present i.e. cholesterol, campestrol, B sisosterol and lupeol. These four plant steroids are important anti-inflammatory agents.
  9. SALICYLIC ACID: It is an aspirin like compound possessing anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties.
  10. AMINO ACIDS: Aloevera contains 20 Amino Acids, out of 20, 7 are essential amino acids which our body cannot synthesis. These are Isoleucine, Leucine, Lysine, methionine, valenin, phenylalanine and thereonine.
